Originally from Peterborough, Ontario, Nick has been playing the drums for over 10 years. He has experience in various genres and ensembles; both in the studio and performing live shows. Nick has often been seen playing drums for musicals; as well as filling in for bands that needed a drummer for shows and studio recordings.

Sam has been music director, band leader and player for over 20 musical theatre shows and many more jazz, funk, rock and R&B ensembles in Peterborough and Toronto. Her years-long experience as a self-taught, ear-trained jack-of-all-trades has evolved into a fascination with eclectic, albeit structured learning methods. With experience teaching all ages—from children to older adults—and using multiple music curriculums, she values and prioritizes each student, jumping at opportunities to create fun, inclusive learning environments. Katie believes music should be approachable and accessible; through feedback and insight, she hopes to instil confidence in her students.

Tim has been playing guitar and other stringed instruments for over 40 years, taking his initial training through the Ontario Conservatory of Music program. From an acoustic folk beginning, his interest expanded across genres from old-time fiddle music all the way to Alice Cooper. Tim has performed with Elvis impersonators, traditional roots band The Wakami Wailers and most recently with Odd Man Rush here in Peterborough. He can also be found in musical theatre orchestras playing electric, acoustic and 12-string guitars, mandolin, banjo, ukulele and bass.

Born and raised in Peterborough, Lori has been playing trumpet/flugelhorn/cornet/baritone for more than 40 years. Lori attended Queen’s University and North Texas State University where she studied Music Education and Jazz Performance. Over the years, Lori has performed with a variety of ensembles including The Kawartha Jazz Ensemble, Peterborough Concert Band, Peterborough Wind Symphony, Peterborough Symphony Orchestra as well as many musical theatre Groups in the area.

Calvin Bakelaar is an experienced musician based in Peterborough, Ontario, with a passion for teaching. He has been playing drums since the age of 12 and guitar since 2018. As the recipient of the 2024 Peterborough Folk Festival Emerging Artist Award and with original music released under his artist name, VANCAMP, Calvin brings his expertise as a singer/songwriter to his teaching. His lessons are designed to inspire creativity and help students develop their own unique musical voice.
